Buratino is a character created by Alexei Tolstoy in 1936, based on the Italian fairy tale of Pinocchio. In 1975, Mosfilm released the musical film The Adventures of Buratino, which became a classic of Soviet children's cinema. Filming took place in Crimea, and many of the filming locations can still be visited today.
Filming took place in 1974–1975, and the premiere took place in March 1976. The film stars such famous actors as Dmitry Iosifov (Buratino), Rolan Bykov (Karabas-Barabas), and Rina Zelenaya (Tortilla the Turtle).
