Egyptian media reported that the country's authorities, in conjunction with major hotel chains, have strengthened security measures at Red Sea resorts. New CCTV systems have been installed in Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, patrols have been increased, and additional security checks have been introduced at airports.
According to Egyptian Tourism Ministry officials, these measures are aimed at restoring the confidence of wealthy tourists, who in recent years have increasingly chosen alternative destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Turkey.
Hoteliers note that premium clients are particularly sensitive to security issues, which is why Egypt is focusing on cultivating the image of a "trusted resort." In addition, new VIP packages are planned for 2026, including private transfers, personal guides, and access to exclusive excursion routes.
Experts believe that such steps will help Egypt regain some of its premium segment, especially from Europe and Russia, where interest in the country is traditionally high.
